“Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Tolerance Award” is the first global initiative to consolidate tolerance values and expand the cultural openness between peoples and communities. It also aims to motivate youths to make more efforts in the field of tolerance and support their intellectual, cultural and media productions which are related to the establishment of tolerance values and openness to the other in the Arab world. It is a biennial award.
The award is based on the vision of the International Institute for Tolerance in the United Arab Emirates which is established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The institute vision aims at instilling the tolerance spirit in society, building a cohesive society, and introducing the UAE as a global model for tolerance, anti-extremism and combating all forms of discrimination between people.
The mission of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Tolerance Award is to establish tolerance at the national, regional and international levels. Our mission is to honor groups and entities that contribute to the consolidation of tolerance value among people and the promotion of interfaith dialogue.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tolerance Award aims at:
Tolerance is one of the finest human values. It aims at overriding others’ mistakes and opposing abuse with charity, forgiveness and love of good.
In addition, words must match deeds to achieve the true meaning of tolerance. Moreover, the tolerance sense is to charge the body with the positive energy that makes society members capable of production, thinking and creativity. Tolerance increases the interdependence of members which belong to the same society and to other communities in order to spread love and familiarity between them. This results in a strong and a cohesive society that is difficult to penetrate or control.
